That's the affectionate name given to Newfoundland. No snakes. No poison ivy. And by the chill in the air, I suspect there are very few swimsuit competitions either.
Jay, Michelle, Paul and Moie (Jay's cousin and wife) drove for about 6 hours on Tuesday and arrived at the tip of Cape Breton and camped in preparation of a morning departure on the ferry to Newfoundland. The KOA campground was pleasantly situated on a river and was only 10 miles or so from the ferry terminal. We had an easy dinner of hamburgers. And a wee bit of libations.
Alright. That's not quite accurate.
They were Cheeseburgers.
We boarded a ferry that was the sister ship to this one, and drove Big Blue right into it's nose. The inside of this ship looked like it could house multiple football fields, and it virtually swallowed Big Blue up, and made her feel small.

Ha! The "sunset" you see is actually the camera flash! |
This is the scenic view in front of Big Blue at the campgound |
From the moment we started our drive from the ferry terminal, the unique beauty of Newfoundland started to make it's appearance. We are in an area called the Codroy Valley, and unfortunately we are going to leave this area without any sight-seeing excursions as we make our way to the Gros Morne park later this afternoon. But here is one more look at the view in front of Big Blue at our campground, this time without Blue in it.
